Cold deformation by rolls where the thickness of the profiles is reduced, obtaining measures of greater accuracy than the ones obtained with hot rolling. Cold rolling is usually done from hot rolled profiles.

Cold reductions cannot be as severe as those made in hot, because of the energy required for the deformation and because of the cold-shortness presented by steel at those temperatures.
