Hot deformation, in steel at temperature > 1000ºC, of the semiproduct in continuous process through rolling cylinders until forming a rolled product: profiles, bars, flats, plates.
Hot rolling has the main function of forming the final shape of the profile, obtaining an improvement of the steel properties and a correction of the heterogeneities with respect to the as-cast product, due to effects of grain refinement and recrystallization.
