Semi-finished product normally of square section and of dimensions not exceeding 155×155 mm. Its destination is to be hot rolled to get coils or rolled bars.
The billet is usually as-cast obtained by continuous casting, although sometimes it can be processed products of casting by means of rolling, forging or cutting to length.
